...and this weekend we were supposed to go and try a couple of crossover(yeah, a damn crossover, doesn't match her personality, but whatever). She was to decide between the CX-5 and the Cherokee, but...
.
...this week she saw me reading an email from Lexus, about the new NX and an article about new LR Discovery Sport.
I don't have a problem with that, as I kinda like the NX, to say the least.
But this means she will have to wait until those cars get to dealers, and in the meantime, she will keep asking me annoying, non car-person questions, about cars.

What does she currently drive?
Oh, and you probably know this. But the Lexus and the LR are probably going to be quite size-ably more expensive.

I don't know, the CX5 is pretty solid for the price.

Well if you're well off, then sure get the luxurious ticking time bomb LR ;)
You should be wary of the 2014 JGC though http://m.carcomplaints.com/Jeep/Grand_Che…

Did she try Acura RDX? Never driven one, but every Acura I've driven has been solid.

TT.
I know that, but I'm not paying for it, she refused my help, she also refused her parents when they offered to pay for her car. After they insisted, she agreed to let them pay half of the car's price. She can be pretty independent.
Also, if she gets the NX, it would look nice next to my car, if I decide to get the RC or IS, for myself.

I'm not gonna let her fund the production of squished Beetles.

Yeah, but you know, posh styling attracts non car people better, and she felt for it.

I drive a TSX and she hates it, she says Acuras are too formal to be cool.

Maybe with lighter materials, comes reliability?
Also, CG is too big for her needs.

Nice, nice. It's a very unique shape that Lexus.

Not a word I'd have applied to the entire range, but she has her opinions. Does Nissan offer anything she'd be interested in?

Those Vossen wheels work wonders on the IS.

Not something that isn't a sports car, but for some reason she wants a crossover now, she says the new Murano is "okay, kinda", and the QX50 was born outdated, when the old G was almost ready for a new model. I blame Infiniti for moving way too slowly in developing the variations on the Q50 theme.

If Nissan would've sold this Euro flavored hatchback here, maybe I could've made her go for it, rather than a crossover.

But its so pretty

I'VE GOT IT! She needs to pull a DeMuro - an unreliable car with a CarMax warranty. Don't know where you live, but for instance: http://www.carmax.com/enus/view-car/…
Then you can blog about it ... I'm a bleedin' genius.

Macan S destroys every CUV/SUV. Only thing better than a Macan S is a Macan Turbo. But no need to spend that much as the Macan S is better value for money.
Anyone who really wants a CUV/SUV type vehicle and who cares about driving dynamics and can afford to spend $50K should get a Macan S with zero options.
There really is no substitute. Porsche spent a literal shit ton of money turning the Q5 into a drivers car.

Yeah, anyone who buys anything else has no valid excuse.

It's the best CUV ever

And she could do a lot worse than one of these - dead reliable and I quite like the styling. If I were in the market in this class, it's probably where I'd go - not a true crossover, but not a pig like the giant SUVs.
